# Install GX

I install GX successfully,  
pip show great-expectations

Name: great-expectations

Version: 1.3.1

But when I run great\_expectations init

-bash: great\_expectations: command not found

What is the problem, How to solve this problem?

I think you need to follow the install [instructions](https://docs.greatexpectations.io/docs/core/set_up_a_gx_environment/install_gx).

hey @Richard, looks like you might be following some out of date documentation - the `great_expectations init` CLI command has been deprecated for several versions. To set up a new GX project, follow the documentation here: [Create a Data Context | Great Expectations](https://docs.greatexpectations.io/docs/core/set_up_a_gx_environment/create_a_data_context#create-a-file-data-context)
